Caveon Security Services (View PDF)
As a testing program manager you probably feel the burden of managing and simultaneously trying to secure a high-stakes program. Cheating and fraud cost millions of dollars in damage to high-stakes testing programs annually. Perhaps worse than that, it jeopardizes the validity of otherwise well-respected tests and undermines people’s confidence in decisions that are based on test results.
How would you like to have access to a team of test-security experts to help you steer clear of test-security pitfalls so you can focus on building and managing your program?
Caveon Security Services offers exactly that. Caveon Security Directors are industry leaders with great depth and breadth of expertise in test security. They’ll help you put proper security practices in place so that you protect your investment with a program that is more secure and less likely to be compromised. Best of all, you simply subscribe to our service so you don’t have to build your own.
By subscribing to Caveon Security Services, you have access to our Security Directors’ decades of industry experience—it’s like having one on staff, with a set amount of the Security Director’s time per month. A Caveon Security Services subscription includes these prevention services to help you protect your testing program from security breaches:
Consulting: Tap into our Security Directors’ expertise and learn from them the best security practices for designing items, tests, and testing programs that are less vulnerable to piracy and fraud. What’s more, consulting services give you access to senior Caveon personnel—experts like psychometricians who can enlighten you about the fine points of securing tests from the test-item level on up, and statisticians who can explain the meaning of the unusual test-taking patterns you observe.
Security plan: This is a customized test-program security plan based on your needs and program goals. It is developed by your Caveon Security Director, with your input, and may be derived from the Caveon Security Audit. The security plan is a formal, written document that clearly lays out your program’s policies and procedures, definitions, roles and responsibilities, security-breach action plan, approvals, and other necessary components. Such a plan ensures that all points of the Caveon Security Audit are addressed—that measures are in place to protect against security threats.
Security-breach action plan: This is a specific plan for structuring responses to alleged or confirmed instances of test abuse. The plan specifies the steps necessary to recover from a security breach and limit the possible damage to tests. It outlines what to do, with a clearly identified escalation path.
Security updates: These updates provide a wealth of information. They consist of a concise, easy-to-use collection of in-depth research reports, case studies, and surveys presenting best practices in a wide variety of industries, with the common theme of security practices in testing. The format is a periodical report, with a database of articles for your further research.
Caveon Security Partners: You have access to Caveon’s referral network of approved test-security service and product providers, whether individuals or companies. These may include resellers of Caveon services, co-marketers, complementary service providers (such as test-delivery providers, test-data management companies, or test-development companies—organizations to which we refer clients), or contractors who provide services through Caveon. They may or may not be security related. All adhere to high levels of security practices.
With Caveon Security Services, our Security Directors and other experts become your in-house security team. They can even stand by you when you make a presentation to senior management about the status of your testing program. They have the experience to help you keep your program secure.
