Caveon Security Standards Supports Security Requirements for ANSI / ISO / IEC 17024

SALT LAKE CITY, UT—Caveon Test Security today announced it is assisting several certification bodies who have either been accredited or are in the accreditation process of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) with establishing policies and procedures to increase the security of their certification programs. This assistance has been helpful in meeting the ANSI / ISO / IEC 17024 requirements. Overall this contribution will promote stronger, more secure testing organizations.

“More and more, test fraud is undermining the validity of certifications used to make important hiring and personnel decisions,” said Dr. John Fremer, Caveon President. “Contributing these standards marks a significant milestone in the fight against test cheats and pirates. Our test security standards provide a structured framework for organizations to protect their personnel certification programs and supports ANSI accreditation.”

Caveon’s standards outline fourteen areas in which certification programs need to develop policies, procedures, and processes to proactively address test security issues. These fourteen areas involve all aspects of certification program management, including, but not limited to, Security Planning, Budgets, Test Design & Development, and Incident Responses. Based on ANSI’s Security Guidance Document listed on the ANSI web site, incorporating these standards would appear to meet the requirements in ANSI / ISO / IEC 17024.

“Test security has become a very important issue for the credibility and validity of testing programs in this country,” added Dr. Roy Swift, ANSI Program Director, Personnel Certification Accreditation Program.
