Cheating in the News > March 12, 2004

Dear Associate,
It's been a long, cold winter here in Utah and this week's spring-like weather is a welcome change. This week's stories cover how health professionals are dealing with test security problems; the extreme precautions taken to ensure the Missouri Assessment Program tests aren't accessed before the administration date; and test security insights from the recent Association of Test Publishers conference.
On the lighter side there's the story of the 2001 final exam for the "Coaching Principles and Strategies of Basketball" class at the University of Georgia. With questions like, "How many goals on a basketball court?" and "How many points does a three-point field goal account for?" I can't imagine there were any cheating problems.

Regards,
Don Sorensen
